Fun things in Mesa

These were some cute pictures from the other weekend when I went up to Mesa. Grandma Haught gave Tylie a Snow White doll that she absolutely LOVES! She is all into princesses now. I love it because I get to watch all the movies again that I watched when I was little.

Smile Tylie!

This is what she usually does when you tell her to smile...she just says "cheese" and gets a weird looking face. Actually she says what sounds like "cheese and wine" but we have no idea where she got that from!

Regan and I also went to visit my friend Stacy who just had a baby. Little Eli is SO adorable! Stacy is the cutest mom and doesn't even look like she just had a baby! We made her take a picture with us even though she hadn't gotten ready for the day (I remember when just taking a shower was getting something accomplished for the day!)

Oh ya, and the weekend I was there I sewed Tylie the dress she is wearing in this picture. Ok well my mom helped A LOT! It's not a great picture but it turned out pretty cute and was definately harder than I had imagined! Couldn't have done it without you mom!

Happy Birthday Mom and Dad!

Today is my Mom's birthday and tomorrow is my Dad's. Weren't they cute newlywed's?!
I have the cutest parents ever!
My mom is the craftiest person you will ever meet. There is nothing she can't sew, knit, draw, paint, design etc... She is the best Grandma (Tylie calls her Minnie). I was so glad to have a girl first because I knew my mom would make a thousand things for her. She even made her blessing dress with a bonnet, it was the prettiest dress you could ever imagine. She is a great mom, always giving good advice and my best friend to shop and go out to eat with.
My dad is the coolest water skiing, motorcycling Grandpa! On the barbeque he cooks up the best chicken, ribs, steak, hamburgers, you name it! I still don't like to make these things at home because I know my dad can do it better! One thing I admire about my dad is I never hear him say anything bad about anyone. What a good trait to have!
I love you guys, happy birthday!!

Kelly's Shower

I went to Kelly's baby shower on Saturday. Ami and Tylie had so much fun playing together!
Kelly definately has the pregnancy "glow". Her face is so clear and spotless (unlike mine when I am prego!)

This little boy is going to be well taken care of with all the stuff they got!
Cute!
We had so much fun and can't wait to meet this little guy.

Gilbert Girls Night!

Shana, Me, Regan, Heather, Audrey, Michelle, Lisa (sorry Lisa the guy cut you out!)
So I went up to Mesa for my sister-in-laws baby shower and decided to throw in a dinner with the girls as well! It was so fun being with the high school gang again. Heather is the only one that didn't go to Gilbert High but she married Langdon (the Homecoming King) so we consider her Gilbert! We went to Abuelos and just caught up on everyone's jobs, kids, marriages, wedding plans, boyfriends, pregnancys etc...

Heather, Me, Regan

I can't remember what Regan was doing here but she is always being goofy so who knows?!

Love you Regan!
Audrey, Michelle, Lisa
It was so fun to just eat in peace without Ty Monster. I loved every minute of it! Oh and then Regan took me to the best dessert place called Fresco. It's shaved ice with frozen yogurt and fresh fruit. So good! I will definitely make that a priority when I come up from now on. Thanks girls!!

Bikini and Projects

Tylie posed for the camera showing off her $2 bikini I bought last year at Old Navy. Is it a bad thing this is her favorite swim suit?!
I got a sewing machine last year for my birthday and just now got it up and runing! I never had time when I was YW's pres. so I am enjoying working on little projects. I am just learning but this princess book was my first project. I was so proud, even though to a regular sewer, this is probably nothing! Ha
I like fast easy projects. I don't think I have the patience for anything complicated
Just to practice I started sewing ribbon onto burp cloths. Makes them a little more girly! Then I realized, who knows if I will have another girl one day?! Oh well

Thanks for all of your advice on the potty training. The problem is I really don't know how to apply it to my stinker child. Tylie normally had about 3-4 wet diapers a day and she always woke up dry after her naps and in the morning. Since the potty training started she now holds everything in ALL day and then has a sopping wet diaper in the morning. She won't go in her diaper or the potty. Every night she is uncomfortable and in pain but won't go, and now she is going during her sleep which is a step back!
If you even mention going to the bathroom she screams and throws a fit. I have been worried about her getting a bladder infection. I guess I could just keep her in undies and let her mess up to learn but when she goes it is a whole 24 hours worth of pee!
Last night I was at a baby shower and Tylie did a load of 3 days worth (sorry for the specifics). Dallas was home with her and had to deal with it (payback for all those dirty diapers he never changed!):)
So...maybe she is not ready but I cannot believe she is so stubborn that she will make herself sickly uncomfortable to hold it in!!
She drives me crazy, but then she will do something so funny that I crack up and love her more and more. Today we went for a drive by the mountains and Dallas and I were blaming each other for letting one rip in the car, when all of a sudden Tylie starts cracking up in the back and we realized it was her! Once she knew we knew she would not stop laughing, it was so funny. She literally is a stinker!!

Just to update on the potty training... I put Tylie to bed at 8:30 and she never went potty once all day! Has this ever happened? She has gone over 24 hours without peeing! She was determined to hold it in no matter how painful it looked (even with her diaper on she wouldn't go!) I think diapers aren't so bad anymore and I am convinced she can wear them for the rest of her life so I don't have to potty train! She drank a lot today too. I cannot believe how stubborn this child is. Oh and she doesn't care about bribes anymore. I could tell her I am going to make her a huge ice cream sundae and she still won't go. Hopefully she wakes up with a soaking wet diaper because I don't know how anyone can hold pee that long! I never knew the little things that would consume my life being a mom! :)
